Financed by his family, the first Double Stone Steel factory was opened in in 1994 in Panyu, Guangzhou, China. Mr Zhu wanted to specifically target the decorative/architectural metals sector and developed larger machines and different PVD colours to fulfill the needs of the industry.
The business has continued to grow over the past 20 years and now there are over 10 manufacturing facilities throughout China with over 60 different types of PVD machines and more than 5,000 workers. The annual turnover (processing only) is $20 million.
